Fytoremediation and Possibilities of Increasing Its Effectivity
Abstrakt
Phytoremediation involves the use of plants for extraction, sequestration and detoxication of pollutants. This method is considered as an ecologically responsible alternative to the environmentally destructive physical remediation methods currently practised. A number of plants have been identified as hyperaccumulators in the phytoextraction of a variety of metals; some of them have been used in field applications. Many plant species are able to degrade organic compounds by their enzymatic apparatus. This paper reviews various phytoremediation methods, their advantages and limitations and potential improvement of the methods by using genetically modified plants.Stahování
