Abstract

Oil was removed from crystalline polystyrene by accelerated solvent extraction. Optimized extraction parameters (temperature, pressure, sample amount, sample pretreatment, extraction time, solvent type and its amount) were used for the purpose. The oil content in extracts was determined by gravimetric analysis. The obtained results were compared with those using Soxhlet extractors.
