Abstract

The aim of the review is to characterize Listeria monocytogenes as one of the most dangerous microbial contaminants in foods. A survey of methods for its detection is given. Molecular genetic methods and immunoassay techniques are recognized as promising methods for Listeria monocytogenes screening in food samples. A list of commercially available kits is presented.
