Study of the Interactions Between Hydroxyl Radicals and Purine DNA Bases
Abstract
The effect of nucleic acid bases (adenine, guanine) on the second reduction step of oxygen (electroreduction of hydrogen peroxide) on the hanging mercury drop electrode (HMDE) or the meniscus-modified silver amalgam electrode (m-AgSAE) was studied. In the presence of chloride anions the corresponding voltammetric peak increases with increasing concentration of the bases while the peak potential is shifted to more positive potentials.Downloads
