Abstract

This paper represents author's opinion concerning developments in liquid chromatography. The focus is on column technologies since these separation devices are at the heart of chromatography. After starting with the early times of chromatography, the current advancements are used as the springboard in the considerations where the chromatography might be heading in the future.
