Abstract

The first analytical chemistry handbook on qualitative analysis in Czech language is described. The handbook (two volumes, 1843 and 1844) as well as laboratory kits were compiled by a physician, Karel Slavoj Amerling (1807–1884) on the basis of Lampadius, Pfaff, Rose, and Berzelius books. Amerling created original Czech chemical terms for his handbook.
