History and Current Status of the Associations of Chemists

Abstract

History of registered chemical associations in the region represented now by the Czech Republic dates back to 1866. During the history the societies and associations by turns merged and split again, and several "professional" groups were apparently formed to serve just temporarily or for the specified purpose. Luckily, the oldest one established in 1866 works until now as the Czech chemical society.
